At some point in your life you may feel exhausted. You may feel without Strength; you feel like you just want to give up, and this is when you have to search within yourself and find the sleeping inspiration which resides inside of you. You must activate it to get the strength to continue. There is no a doubt that my artwork comes from the inspiration and strength that I get from my present and past which are inscribed inside of me. My artwork expresses my own personal ideas, thoughts about life, and my own external and internal conflicts with myself and society. Through my art I am able to express myself and be free. For example, I enjoy using the butterfly as a symbol of freedom in both realistic and surrealism. The difference is that the butterfly is not free but trapped in time, and its beauty is used as a device to deceive the viewer. Moreover, this way I'm able to tell the viewer that one day I will be free and completely free like this butterfly that is trapped in time. To make this happen in real life is my goal. As for my own personal identity, I try to get the viewer's attention by using patterns with brilliant color, shapes and designs that make simple, ordinary things look interesting. However, these patterns, colors and shapes also have deep meaning. For example, I enjoy using different patterns in self- portraits. I use them to tell the viewer that the past is something not to be ashamed of, but experiences that flow through you. They should be feelings that you embrace, all the pain and joy, which is why I love to create art.
