Miami Dade Regional Academy

NOTICE: To Students upgrading from Cisco Curriculum version 3.x to version 4.0

As you know, the Cisco Academy has transitioned to the new Cisco Curriculum version 4.0 (called Exploration). Miami Dade College is now teaching that curriculum exclusively. The new curriculum maps to the new certification test (CCNA 640-802).

WHAT THAT MEANS:  You cannot take CET2620 under version 4.0 unless you pass the Cisco CCNA-2 version 4.0 course. This scenario would happen if you took CCNA-1 and CCNA-2 version 3.x, and did not complete your Cisco studies before the switch to version 4.0.

SOLUTION:  I have set up a special (and free) Cisco Academy Class to convert students to the version 4.0 track. It will carry over your efforts from CCNA-2, and will have NO impact on your college grade for CET1610. You will have to do the following:

  1. Take the "missing" Chapter Tests

  2. Attend 3 Routing Workshops

  3. Pass the Final Exam

  4. Pass the Skills-Based Assessment

  5. Take the Course Feedback

TO ENROLL:  EMAIL me the following info:

  1. Name (in MDC records)

  2. Student ID number

  3. Cisco username and/or Academy ID#

  4. Your NING.COM username

    To join NING, visit:  http://cisnet.ning.com

    Email me at:  jchin@mdc.edu

NOTE: Students who passed CET2620 are not eligible for this class.

FIRST MEETING:  The Orientation Class will meet:

    Tuesday, June 24, 2008  --  6:00 PM
    Room 7164, Wolfson Campus

Additional notices will be posted on this website. Materials and information subject to change.

Sincerely,
